The Postmistress is a poignant historical novel set during the early days of World War II, intertwining the lives of three women whose paths cross in unexpected ways. Iris James, the postmistress of Franklin, Massachusetts, holds a position of trust in her small coastal town. Meanwhile, Frankie Bard, an American radio reporter in London, broadcasts the harrowing realities of the Blitz, urging listeners to heed the warnings of war. Emma Trask, a new bride in Franklin, receives a letter from her husband, a doctor who has gone off to war, which Iris fails to deliver. As the narrative unfolds, the novel explores themes of duty, secrecy, and the impact of war on personal lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are your books brand new?
Mostly, we sell pre-loved books — they’ve been read, enjoyed, and are now ready for their next happy home.
How do I take care of my secondhand books?
Store them somewhere cool and dry. Use a dehumidifier if possible. Don’t feed them to booklice (yes, they exist). And if you notice tanning or foxing, don’t panic — it’s normal aging. Think of it as wrinkles on a wise old friend.
Do secondhand books have markings or highlights?
Some may have previous owner’s notes, highlights, or dedications on the first page. If a book has visible markings, we’ll always mention it in the description or upon inquiry.
How do you check the quality of secondhand books?
We carefully inspect every book before listing. Most of our books are in very good, readable condition, with no missing or damaged pages. For older, heavily foxed or tanned books, we still sell them at a lower price, as long as they remain complete and enjoyable to read. Condition and pricing are always reflected in the listing.
Where can we contact you for further inquiries?
We’re always active on our social media accounts — so go ahead, follow us and talk to us (seriously, nobody really talks to us 😅). You can also send us an email if you prefer. Either way, we’ll be happy to hear from you!

Yes! We’ll do our best to source it for you. Whether it’s a secondhand gem or a brand-new preorder, we’ll reach out to our suppliers and check availability. It may take a few days, but we’ll update you along the way. Just send us a message or inquiry so we can start the hunt for your preferred book.
